A complete H&H studio — end to end
Delta Hydro Studio links catchment, rainfall, runoff, and hydraulics in one browser workspace — with transparent methodology and export-grade outputs.
What Delta Hydro Studio is
Delta Hydro Studio is a browser-based hydrology & hydraulics environment. Instead of running disconnected spreadsheets and desktop scripts, you step through a linked chain: catchment → rainfall → runoff → hydraulics.
Every tool keeps assumptions visible, surfaces intermediate checks, and produces outputs you can use in real deliverables.
How the studio is organised
- Catchment — delineation, flowpaths, and profile tools to anchor the study context.
- Rainfall — IDF/DDF, design storms, and area reductions for consistent inputs.
- Runoff — peak flow and hydrograph generation for translating rainfall into discharge.
- Hydraulics — channels, culverts, detention, weirs, and gradually varied profiles.
- Frequency & data — gauge discovery and statistical approaches for data-driven design.
- Safety — extreme precipitation and safety workflows for high-consequence assets.
- Workflows — end-to-end hubs that run multiple steps for one study.
Key benefits
Data sources (high level)
The studio combines global and regional datasets depending on the tool and region:
- Elevation & delineation: MERIT-Hydro global DEM products (where applicable).
- Rainfall references: regional models plus international datasets (e.g. NOAA Atlas 14 where relevant).
- Gauge discovery: agency and network sources surfaced inside the relevant tools.
For authoritative methodology and dataset notes, see the in-app methodology panels and documentation.
Projects
Keep each study’s inputs, assumptions, intermediate checks, and exports in one place — so you can revisit decisions, duplicate a baseline, and hand off cleanly.
Workflows
Chain catchment → rainfall → runoff → hydraulics with consistent defaults and visible methodology — instead of re-typing parameters across disconnected files.
Team sharing
Align on the same workspace, credit pool, and outputs. Reduce “which spreadsheet is authoritative?” moments during review cycles.
Reference library
Attach references, notes, and reviewer context alongside the model — so the audit trail is part of the deliverable, not an afterthought.
The full methodology knowledge base is available inside the studio for signed-in users.
