Why we built Delta Hydro Studio

Our story

Delta Hydro Studio started with a simple frustration. Running a design flood estimation used to mean juggling a pile of rainfall databases, a delineation script that only ran on one engineer's laptop, a spreadsheet that broke every time someone touched it, and a report template that took a whole afternoon to assemble. Once. For one site.

We thought there had to be a better way. So we built one. The studio automates catchment delineation, method selection, and report generation — so you can focus on the engineering judgement that actually matters.

What we care about

• Industry-standard methods, done right. Every tool implements published methodology (SCS, HDS-5, HEC-15, etc.) exactly the way the reference documents describe — not a simplified approximation.
• Transparent calculations. Every parameter is visible, every step is documented. If you need to defend a result in front of a reviewer or a regulator, you can.
• Client-ready outputs. PDF reports, GIS exports, CAD files — all with consistent formatting and units. Nothing to reformat before you deliver it.
• Speed. From a pin-drop to a full flood estimate in minutes, not days. That's the bar.

Where we operate

Delta Hydro Engineers is a South African company with global ambitions. Our hydraulics and hydrology tools (channel analysis, culvert design, watershed delineation, rainfall analysis, and more) work anywhere in the world. Our SA-specific tools (design flood estimation, ARF, PMP, RMF) implement the methodologies published by DWS, SANRAL, and leading SA hydrological research.
